Israeli troops have abused Palestinian detainees during the 2008-2009 attack on the Gaza Strip, new photos released by a rights group show.
The photos were published on Monday by Breaking the Silence, an Israeli group of veteran combat soldiers who collect testimonies and photos of troops who have served in the occupied territories.
One picture shows a soldier pointing his assault rifle at the face of a blindfolded Palestinian detainee.
Other images show soldiers smiling and posing inside what appears to be Palestinian homes and in one picture a woman in a headscarf is cooking at a stove.
Yehuda Shaul, a founding member of Breaking the Silence, said the group has received dozens of similar pictures that point to a widespread phenomenon.
“It’s the norm in the Israeli military and it’s a direct consequence of being in a place where you control and rule civilians on a daily basis,” he said.
“You become corrupt, and you are not able any more to see them as human beings like you,” he added.

The Israeli military would not immediately comment on the photos.
The Israeli military launched a deadly assault on the beleaguered Gaza Strip at the turn of 2009, killing at least 1,400 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Ann Jones’ new book, They Were Soldiers: How the Wounded Return from America’s Wars: The Untold Story, is devastating, and almost incomprehensibly so when one considers that virtually all of the death and destruction in U.S. wars is on the other side. Statistically, what happens to U.S. troops is almost nothing. In human terms, it’s overwhelming.
Know a young person considering joining the military? Give them this book.
Know a person not working to end war? Give them this book.
Jones presents the choice before us in the clearest terms in the introduction:
Contrary to common opinion in the United States, war is not inevitable. Nor has it always been with us. War is a human invention — an organized, deliberate action of an anti-social kind — and in the long span of human life on Earth, a fairly recent one. For more than 99 percent of the time that humans have lived on this planet, most of them have never made war. Many languages don’t even have a word for it. Turn off CNN and read anthropology. You’ll see.
What’s more, war is obsolete. Most nations don’t make war anymore, except when coerced by the United States to join some spurious ‘coalition.’ The earth is so small, and our time here so short. No other nation on the planet makes war as often, as long, as forcefully, as expensively, as destructively, as wastefully, as senselessly, or as unsuccessfully as the United States. No other nation makes war its business.

The Palestinian Arab people have more intelligence than the Ashkenazi Jew will ever have and are not likely to be intimidated by this kind of behavior coming from fools as we can see in these images. One question in relation to the above shown pictures:
Why blurring the faces of the IDF soldiers?
The are war-criminals, and as such they should be known to everyone, so that everyone is able to recognize them when and if they walk the street, were and whenever they are!
These criminals are to be arrested when and were possible, and brought before an international court (not necessary the ICJ in the Hague, there are other Courts around to put them at trial on!), so that justice can be done!
I’d say stop protecting the identities of the soldiers committing crimes against humanity!
Show their faces, their names if known, their ID-tags, the names of their commanders, the names of their comrades, the names of their units…….. expose them!
