Syrian President Assad Grants General Amnesty

Al-Manar | June 9, 2014

Assad_salutes_SyriansSyrian President Bashar al-Assad issued Monday Legislative Decree no. 22 for 2014 granting a general amnesty for crimes committed before June 9, 2014.

State television cited Justice Minister Najem al-Ahmad as saying the decree was issued in the context of “social forgiveness, national cohesion calls for coexistence, as the army secures several military victories.”

It was not immediately clear who would be included in the amnesty.

That was not the first time President Assad grants amnesty of such kind, the last was October 2013.

  1. President Assad is a very rare man, a Sovereign Nation Leader to be proud of. He has provided the unifying force for his army and citizens, and has grown in stature as they have all endured the worst our own despicable ‘leaders’ have thrown at them. God Bless him.
