US destroyer in the Black Sea is a ‘provocation’ – Russian official

On Saturday, the USS Carney, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, joined another American vessel, the USS Ross, in the waters of the Black Sea, ostensibly to conduct “security operations.”
Yury Shvytkin, the deputy head of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee, called the move a provocation.
“The US is seeking a reaction to its provocative behavior, which could serve as an excuse for more serious action on the part of the Americans and their allies,” Shvytkin told RT in an interview.
“Who are they going to protect and from whom? The Americans are aggravating the situation. Already there are two American ships in the area. Of course, these events can only alarm us.”

NATO rejects Russia’s ‘red line’

NATO has said it “will not compromise” on potential expansion into Ukraine, Georgia, and other former Soviet republics, as this clashes with the “core principles” of the alliance, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters on Wednesday.
The alliance’s response, which Stoltenberg said all 30 members agreed upon, was delivered to Moscow earlier in the day by the US ambassador, alongside Washington’s separate written note.

Israel has a lower threshold for what it considers to be a ‘first strike attack’. If this were an Iranian military ship off the coast of Israel, Israel would have already launched an attack claiming they have been attacked.
Russians can use this opportunity to their advantage by taking the high road while the Jew-neocon strategy shows itself as an unnecessary malevolent provocation.
